Brown eyes hidden
By unkempt hair
And the dust and the dirt
Of my sleepless nights
Out of your window
Through the warm light
I make out your shadow
While you move around
I could wait forever
For another smile
I could wait forever
But it won’t be tonight
I sit back down
And I bow my head
Hand timidly open
For change or rain.
There’s an awful lot left unsaid in that poem, I’m thinking. Leaves one expectant. Good job!

Thank you. I have tried to leave things unsaid, like colors in a b/w picture… Much love, HC

I may have it all wrong but I’d pray for rain…. Sounds like she’s on a party line and there’s always some one just ahead ahead of you… Notice how she responds to your being there. With the rain you might be able to be invited in and dry yourself off.

Reblogged this on The Oddity Writer and commented:
HeavyCloud, or Tony, is a recent discovery on my part, but I’ve really been enjoying his work! I identify with some of it, and it’s always a pleasure to see him in the comments and with his work.
This is one of my personal favorites. I hope you enjoy it, and that I convince you to check him and the others below out! Have an awesome day!

Such a lovely poem. You wrote it with so much respect for the woman. Maybe the rain is meant to be her tears.

Thank you so much. Tears and rain, we need both to make new things grow up…

Really like this one. Made me sad for some reason but, the best verses move you. The comments of others interpretation adds to the piece.

Thank you so much for reading and for your words Vonna. I am not really proud about it, because it reminds me of the bad feelings behind. But I have to admit that it was not bad… π

P.S.
Why did it take me to read another’s comment to realize your name is Tony… after all our many conversations I feel I know you not at all. ; )

Oh some thought I was a woman, so… I felt honored by the thought of having behaved in a non gender-related way. But yes, I’m Tony. The Tiger, as OM called me once π just get in Contact if you want, I’m here and I’d be happy to talk… Cheers, HC

Haha well don’t feel bad the Internet being what it is leaves βat times β too much open for interpretation. I’ve been mistakenly mislabeled often enough myself. I can continue using HC or Tony whichever you prefer.
I once used aliases on my work but, soon noticed the fatal flaw in people NOT knowing I wrote it. With Vonna it is a short-hand of my actual name.

Yes Davonna, HC is my fictional name. My friends call me Tony and I’d be glad if you do too. Still, I do prefer acquaintances NOT to know it’s me writing, so I keep it anonymous π
