When someone falls out of love with you
Because of who you are
It becomes difficult to keep alive the hope
That someone can still fall in love with you
Because of who you are.
When someone falls out of love with you
Because of who you are
It becomes difficult to keep alive the hope
That someone can still fall in love with you
Because of who you are.

it’s hard enough sometimes to accept who you are (much less love yourself!)… such is life, and I guess we must do the best we can. WordPress helped me a lot in both regards!

true, sometimes you realize that some are just interested in an image they have of you and not the real you, those who can really love you for what you truly are, are rare and when you grab them you better not let them go đ

Yes, but sometimes you just get blinded and all you feel like is: “I’m not worth it” đ

Love is a circle drawn in sand, people hop in and out as easy as that.

It’s especially hard to take when those we ask to hop in won’t accept our invitation. My insurance against this is to make the circle really big, open the invitation and focus on everyone who chooses to jump in. Efficient and fun. x o x

I would have quoted Plath but she wrote in triangles, which is ironic.

I love a good triangle. Watching them devolve, at least, and definitely through binoculars. x

Most impressive poem! Favorite so far. A little advice, however. No one is ever totally happy with who we are OR who they are. Best thing to do: Love each other for who you are; forgive each other for who you are not… Great poem!

Its so difficult to believe we are lovable just as we are, if we don’t have a lot of evidence for that. People would say we have to love ourselves first and I am sure that must be true but harder to do when we have had a lot of mirrors that have said “not good enough”. Have you heard the INXS song “don’t change”.. that is the kind of thing you’ll hear from those who love and accept you as you. Takes some time to learn though for those of us who have heard a lot “not good enough”. â¤

Thank you for your words and for the beautiful INXS song, a band I don’t know enough (and quite underrated in Europe, imo). Going through such events, there is always a moment when self esteem falls down. Even if we are old and experienced enough and we think we know how good we are, that specific broken mirror will deform it. Climbing back up takes some times indeed… â¤

So true it is such a long, long journey back especially if our sensitive melancholic self was laid to waste by a narcissist. My experience. I learned it was about that person’s defences and misjudgement of me. Not my fault, but for a long time I thought it was. One thing about falling. it shows us we are human, we are vulnerable .. there is strength in that that less strong people deny.
That INXS song has a beautiful power to it and can really uplift your soul and spirit if you are feeling low. What beautiful words to hear. Don’t change for you, don’t change a thing, for me. Sadly Michael Hutchence the lead singer died while battling Bob Geldoff to enable his children to Paula Yates to visit Australia. Michael was a young sensitive boy rejected at school as he was a poet who found a powerful form of expression through music, he suffered a blow to the head one night in Denmark after being king hit and it changed him deeply…. very sad but he had enormous power and energy. Hope you don’t mind me posting all this on here.

I’m on the leg back of my trip, hopefully. I think I couldn’t have written this, otherwise… đ MH’s story reminds me of “the wall” movie, when the teacher makes fun of his pupil Pink: “What do we have here?… Poems, nonetheless… The lad here reckons himself a poet!… “I’m alright Jack, keep your hands off my stack…”. I will take care of going deeper into INXS work as soon as possible. Thank you for posting this here, my friend â¤

True…. But is there another way to trust that it can/will happen again. Of ocurse I always put myself in question when stuff like this happens but I cannot help but think that there will be a person that will truly love me for who I am, in my strenghts and in my wicknesses for we never change but we do can become better. If I change to fit what the other expects of me, I will be living a lie. Not being honest is a lose/lose situation. That is why it becomes so important that our everyday actions/reactions must be in accordance with our own beliefs and values for we have to stand by it and at least make sure we did our best with what we had. For the same reasons I believe the worst thing you can do to a person you love weither it’s a friend or a lover, is to lie to them because we are preventing them to act accordingly to with the REALITY. This my friend can be very damaging… When one is deprived of the truth, it can lead to major poor decisions for the person doesn’t have a clear and REAL outview on what his/her life is. I think lying is the most disrespectul intentional thing one can do to a person you love.

Thanks a lot for your wise words, TD. It comes a time during such mourning process when all we feel is doubts about ourselves, when we tend to wish for a change and meet the requirements that we failed to fulfill. Sometimes it’s just about our appearance, sometimes it goes deeper and can be very hard to overstep. It’s a healthy time, as healthy as reassessing oneself can be, but it has to come to an end to leave place to a something new.
