Let me show you
This is my room
My toys on the ground
And pencils to draw
It smells good here
And I have fun
My brother’s laughter
Rings out while we run
Let me show you
This is my life
Why should I change it
For a trip in the night
But my daddy says
That we have to go
So I take his hand
And we reach the flow
And I try to run
And I try to swim
And I wave for help
But it’s not me that you see
You see the alien
A thief of work
A sudden menace
To your perfect world
Well now I’m too tired
To fear and to hope
At least let me sleep
On the sand of your shore.
To Aylan.
Oh, HC, that is so beautiful and so sad. He was such a gorgeous little boy. Reminded me a bit of our grandson Ethan. Is there a way you could send this poem to the family? ❤

Thanks for your words and for reblogging. I don’t know if this can be sent to his family, maybe they will read it one day. I somehow needed to leave a trace of all the sadness and the anger that I feel each time I hear about such events, so many beautiful souls paying with their lives for the guilt of being born in the wrong place at the wrong time… 😔 hugs, HC

Reblogged this on Impromptu Promptlings and commented:
Heavy Cloud over at Aliensoulmates has written a beautiful memorial poem for Aylan Kurdi, the toddler who drowned off the coast of the Greek island of Kos, after the boats carrying his family sank. So heartbreaking. All because his parents didn’t want him to have to wake up afraid every day. It makes me so bloomin’ angry.
