One second

Inย one infinite second
Your hair draw spirals
In the translucent mist
Of my morning thoughts

Casting my heart
Away from the mind
Piercing the shield
I patiently forged

One infinite second
A tick of the clock
My castle burns down
But the dungeons remain.

    Oh! From one end of the emotional spectrum to the other. That was sadly beautiful. Broken hearts take a long time to heal sometimes. {{{HC}}}

This morning dream haunted me, I needed to let it out. Thank you for your words and for reblogging, sweet Calen.

Reblogged this on Impromptu Promptlings and commented:
This is such a beautiful poem. And though it’s very personal, anyone who has ever had a broken heart or relationship will identify with it. Beautifully written, my friend.

Your poem is so beautiful especially the first verse. It is a snapshot of a tremendous story. It is the story of every romance ever written about. I’m reminded by the end of the poem of a friend who told me it only takes a day to fall in love. It’s taken him more than 10 years to get over that depraved aftermath, which took place only a week into this fabled romance. He was a Microsoft scholar with a PhD but was homeless literally a second into his fantasy relationship while interning in a new country. Completely senseless. I don’t believe in crashing and burning through a romance. But most people won’t have it any other way.

Thank you SB. I didn’t believe in such a sudden and overwhelming feeling either… Early morning’s hugs and kisses โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Love this! One of your more powerful pieces. How a single curl can stop time and the heart of the man who loves her; beautiful!

In reading this I didn’t think of past love but, a present one. So perhaps your heartbeat hasn’t fully returned to its regular scheduled program. That being said: in seeing it as a current love it invoked images of a man watching the woman he loves sleeping peacefully. Most women dream of such a love.

I just want to print this on a bookmark and tuck it in a beloved book for safe keeping. Well done!

Yes, my heart still skips a beat, as soon as my mind is inattentive. And about past or current love, the boundaries are blurred just like between dream and reality, as Plato said in his beautiful poem here: http://www.platosgroove.com/?p=1977. I have been watching her sleeping for hours, in my previous life. I still watch her sleep sometimes, these have been and are my deepest moments with her, whether they’re real or not. But I guess that waking up and seeing someone staring at you can also be scary sometimes ๐Ÿ˜€
I don’t have words enough to tell you how much you did touch me with your last sentence. Thank you with all my heart, Davonna.
